A hotel rendering proposed by Comstock Companies uses Wynn&#8217;s distinct, curved, bronze-glassed fa\u00e7ade and iconic signature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/exclusive-wynn-resorts-not-involved-in-tysons-casino\/\">Wynn spokesperson told <i>Casino.org <\/i><\/a>that no agreements had been signed and that the talks hadn&#8217;t materialized into anything serious.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We speak informally to developers in many locations across the country all the time,&#8221; the Wynn official said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The latest Las Vegas Strip player to confirm that it too would review the attractiveness of building and operating a casino in Northern Virginia is Caesars Entertainment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Caesars Talks Northern Virginia Casino<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">During Caesars Entertainment&#8217;s 2025 full-year earnings call this week, CEO Tom Reeg was asked about <a href=\"https:\/\/lis.virginia.gov\/bill-details\/20261\/SB756\">Senate Bill 756<\/a>. The statute, which passed the Virginia Senate with a 23-14 vote, would allow Fairfax County and its voters to consider a casino.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Caesars already operates a casino in the commonwealth by way of Danville. Caesars Virginia, a $750 million destination, opened in late 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We are always open to looking at new opportunities. Danville has been a huge success, so we have warm feelings for Virginia. If there is an opportunity in Northern Virginia, yes, we would take a look,&#8221; Reeg said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Caesars has emerged as the gaming leader in Virginia. The Danville casino generated gross gaming revenue of nearly $400 million in 2025. Rivers Casino Portsmouth was second at $318.5 million, and Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino Bristol was third at $251.7 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Norfolk and Petersburg both recently welcomed temporary casinos. Boyd Gaming is building a permanent resort along the Elizabeth River next to Norfolk&#8217;s Harbor Park Minor League Baseball Stadium. Cordish Companies is constructing Live! Casino &amp; Hotel Virginia in Petersburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Sizable Market<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Fairfax County is one of the nation&#8217;s most affluent counties. <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"callout\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the 2020 Census, Fairfax&#8217;s median household income of $127,866 ranked fifth in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Fairfax, however, has seen its county revenue decline post-pandemic, largely due to its large number of corporate headquarters and office buildings. As companies went remote, with some permanently adjusting in-office requirements, government tax income dwindled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">A casino in Fairfax, with Tysons being targeted by proponents of the legislative effort, would almost certainly generate sizable gross gaming revenue.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/mgm-national-harbor-sphere-offset-tax-commanders-exit\/\">MGM National Harbor<\/a> is presently benefiting from Northern Virginia not having a casino.
